We are a newly established club teaching traditional aikido in the Hibiscus Coast area. Our membership is open to ages 12 years and above.

At Otonga we teach traditional shotokan karate in a family friendly environment. It is a fun way for both boys and girls to achieve fitness and focus.

Karate help teach self-discipline and socialization skills. A typical hour-long class begins with a warm-up, students then practice particular skills which includes kicks, punches and blocks. Each requires concentration and strict attention.

Testing for each new level is a good exercise in setting and achieving goals.

Probably the most important benefit is the respect that the students learn. For kids it often carries over into school, helping to improve behaviour and even grades.

Samurai-Arts began some 50+ years ago as "Bushido Jujutsu based in Auckland.
Training with world renown Japanese and European instructors added to the organisations skill base between 1980 and 2010 and the study of samurai-swordsmanship became a fundamental discipline. We continue to teach semi-traditional Jujutsu and traditional Kenjutsu and have a dedicated student base who are pleased to assist with initiation of new students.
We look forward to welcoming new students who have an interest in traditional aspects of martial arts.

Traditional Bujinkan ninjutsu for self defence. Training consists of both armed and unarmed combat and is non competitive. Please phone or email for more information. Friendly, with small class sizes.
